From May 11th to 13th, two significant events took place in Batumi, Georgia - the General Assembly of RuralTour and the 4th International Conference on Rural Tourism. The assembly was attended by 14 representatives of the European Association of Rural Tourism. The rural tourism conference, held a day later, saw the participation of up to 150 representatives engaged in the field of rural tourism. The main topics covered during the conference, by both foreign and local delegates, included sustainable development of rural tourism, intangible cultural heritage and its role in rural tourism, successful rural development stories, adventure tourism in rural areas, and digital technologies. At the end of the working visit, the conference and assembly guests visited the mountainous region of Ajara, where they had the opportunity to explore the region's main attractions, take part in culinary workshops, and enjoy energetic Georgian dances. We would like to thank everyone for their active participation! We believe that our joint efforts and such events will contribute to further development of rural tourism and the strengthening of our relationships!
