At the homestead, we organize educational sessions – "Paskanauk Žemaitijos" – during which we offer our guests the opportunity to experience our wonderful region through its cuisine. Generations-old traditions allow us to present culinary heritage dishes and demonstrate how to prepare the Samogitian pride, “kastinys,” which the hostess makes using dairy products from local farms. Both kastinys and šmakalas are dishes that leave an indelible impression on everyone. Since 2014, the homestead has been certified with a national heritage product certificate.

The homestead hostess, adorned in traditional national attire, welcomes guests with a Samogitian song and naturally fermented kvass. We proudly claim that we have the only authentic, personalized earthenware in which our culinary heritage dishes are served—and they’re enjoyed with wooden spoons.

Guests are treated to all the beloved Samogitian dishes: Samogitian kąstinis, cibulynė, fermented cabbage soup, kanapinė, šmakalas, and other specialties. All dishes are prepared “here and now.” The educational program lasts up to 2 hours.
